The Kebbi State Government KBSG has expressed dismay over what it described as “diabolical campaigns of calumny” allegedly orchestrated by opposition parties to discredit the administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
This was disclosed during a press briefing by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi.

According to the Commissioner, the state government is concerned about recent efforts by opposition elements to portray the Idris-led administration in a negative light, describing such actions as “disheartening, sad, and unfortunate.”
He acknowledged that while the opposition has the constitutional right to hold government accountable, such oversight should be exercised with fairness and decorum, not “deceitful envy.”
“The recent events in Kebbi State have shown that the opposition has been doing the exact opposite of the basic tenets of democracy,” he said.
The Commissioner further dismissed recent viral videos circulating online, which suggested that the state government had failed to address basic healthcare needs.
