The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a press statement urging the public to disregard the allegations made by Tigran Gambaryan, an American personnel of Binance, against Nigerian government officials.
Gambaryan, who was recently tried in Nigeria for financial crimes, has been making outrageous allegations, misinformation, and defamatory statements .
According to the statement, the government is reluctant to engage with Gambaryan due to the high-level diplomatic intervention that resolved his case.
However, they felt compelled to set the record straight to prevent his falsehoods from gaining traction.
The government denied Gambaryan’s claims, stating that his allegations are unsubstantiated and lack credibility.
They also rejected Binance’s offer of a $5 million down payment in exchange for Gambaryan’s freedom, opting for a more beneficial settlement with the American government instead .
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, advised the public to exercise caution and not be swayed by Gambaryan’s unfounded and malicious claims.
He expressed confidence that both the Nigerian and American judicial systems will provide Gambaryan with a fair opportunity to substantiate his claims in court
