Kano, Nigeria – The 25th edition of the Nestle Milo basketball finals has come to a close, with Ahmadiyya College emerging as the champion in both the boys and girls categories.

The event was held at the Indoor Sports Hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex in Kofar Mata, Kano.

Despite the excitement of the tournament, the event was marked by the absence of top government officials and Nestle Milo representatives.

The winners did not receive certificates or trophies at the end of the final, which was attended by a large crowd of spectators.

The championship, organized by the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF), attracted over 300 secondary schools from across the state.

Ahmadiyya College’s victory earned them a spot to represent Kano in the upcoming Savannah Conference, scheduled to hold on May 2, 2025.

The Savannah Conference will bring together teams from 11 states, including Kano, Jigawa, Zamfara, Katsina, Taraba, Yobe, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi, and Adamawa.

In a post-event interview, Ibrahim Bello, the head of school sports at the Kano State Ministry of Education, praised the participants for their sportsmanship and cooperation throughout the tournament.

However, he declined to comment on the absence of Nestle Milo representatives.

The absence of the sponsors’ representatives and the lack of certificates and trophies for the winners have raised questions about the organization and sponsorship of the event.
