    Police, Censorship Board Unite to Tackle Social Media Vices in Kano

    The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori, has pledged the Command’s full support to the Kano State Censorship Board in its efforts to uphold cultural values and curb immorality in the state.

    CP Bakori made the pledge during an advocacy visit by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Abba El-Mustapha, who led a delegation to the Police Command headquarters.

    He commended the board’s leadership, particularly the efforts of El-Mustapha in regulating the Kannywood film industry and promoting morality through strict oversight.

    The CP assured the board of continued collaboration, especially in tackling the rise of social media abuse and other immoral activities threatening public decency.

    “The Police Command is ready to work closely with the Board to maintain law, order, and cultural decency across all 44 LGAs,” the CP said. “Our doors are always open for cooperation.”

    On his part, the Executive Secretary, Abba El-Mustapha, congratulated CP Bakori on his recent appointment and emphasized the need for strong synergy between the Police and the Board.

    He noted that effective regulation of media content and the film industry can only be achieved through robust law enforcement support.

    “We value the partnership with the Police, which has helped us maintain standards and protect societal values across Kano State,” El-Mustapha stated.

    He expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for his warm welcome and reaffirmed the board’s dedication to responsible media oversight in accordance with Kano’s moral and cultural standards.
