A Non-governmental organisation NGO New Incentives, All Babies Are Equal ABAE has enrolled 250,000 infants across seven local government areas in Zamfara state.
The State Field Manager of ABAE, Aliyu Idris made the disclosure during the annual award presentation to the best performing local government councils held at Command Guest House Gusau.
According to him, new Incentives has enrolled two hundred and fifty thousand 250,000 infants across 7 local government areas working to improve immunization in the state.
Aliyu said the award was based on the performance of each local government area regarding immunization compliance, equipment, and vaccine supply in their respective areas.
The Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Primary Health Care Development (ZSPHCD), Dr. Hussaini Yakubu Anka, appreciated the commitment of ABAE towards improving immunization in the state.
He stressed that, New Incentives’ intervention has greatly assisted in improving immunization in the state and believe that, their presence has resulted in wider immunization coverage.
During the ceremony, two awards were presented to Gusau Local Government Area, which enrolled 19,288 infants in immunization, and for being the best local government area in vaccine supply.
While Bungudu Local Government Area emerged as the best and was presented with an award for the best Immunization Activities in the state.
