Eric Sekou Chelle has been unveiled as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, becoming the 37th head coach of the Nigerian national team.

His primary mandate is to lead the team to qualification for the 2026 World Cup .

Chelle, a Franco-Malian, was born in Côte d’Ivoire to a Malian father and a French mother. At just 47 years old, he brings a fresh perspective to the team.

His coaching experience includes a stint as the head coach of the Mali national team, where he led them to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations .

As the new head coach, Chelle will be expected to develop young talent, emphasize discipline, and implement an attacking philosophy.
