CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, has assumed duty as the 34th Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State.

Born in Azare Katagum LGA of Bauchi State, Nigeria, CP Azare holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Bayero University Kano, and two Master’s degrees in Public Policy and Administration and Crime Management, Prevention and Control.

With a distinguished career spanning multiple positions, CP Azare has served as a Detective, Police Public Relations Officer, and Head of the Counter Terrorism and General Investigation Unit, among others.

He has undergone extensive training in Riot and Crowd Control, Leadership, Mentorship, Law Enforcement, and Prosecution, both locally and internationally.

Some of his notable training programs include the Police Mobile Force (PMF) Training Course in Gwoza, Borno State, Financial Investigation Techniques in the USA, and Strategic Intelligence Analysis in Canada.

He is also a fellow of the National Institute for Security Studies (fsi) and holds a traditional title, “Sarkin Noman Katagum,” in Bauchi State.
