The Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA) has elected new executive committee to steer its affairs for the next two years.
The chairman of the electoral committee Professor Muhammad Bello Shitu announced that Hassan Ibrahim Gama was elected as State Focal Person, Mahdi Muhammad Abdullahi as Deputy State Focal Person and Sunusi Hashim as Secretary General.
Others elected are Dr Abubakar Hassan Ibrahim, Assistant Secretary-General; Saratu Maigida, Treasurer; Rukayya Abdurrahman, Financial Secretary and Suleiman Zubairu, Auditor.
Others are Garzali Ibrahim Ungoggo, Public Relations Officer l; Abdulbaki DAG, PRO ll and Garba Hamman Dikko alias Bala BUK, Provost.
Professor Shitu charged the new leadership to be innovative and work closely with government officials.
The outgoing Focal Person, Dr Auwalu Halilu, recalled how he received the mantle of leadership from Prof MB Shitu 4 years ago. He noted that he has succeeded in consolidating the success of Prof MB Shitttu.
Dr. Halilu pledged to support the new leadership of CSACEFA as he enjoyed similar support from his predecessors.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director at Kano State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB), Malam Mustapha Ungoggo, said the Board is working with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Development partners to take education to greater heights.
He, therefore, advised the new leadership to justify the confidence reposed on them by other members.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Focal Person, Malam Hassan Ibrahim Gama, expressed appreciation to Almighty God for granting him the opportunity to lead CSACEFA.
He challenged the other Excos to start preparing for the task ahead, pledging to consolidate on the success recorded by the officials.
Ibrahim pledged to partner with other coalitions working on the education sub-sector in Kano state.
