    CSW69 Emphasizes Digital Inclusion for Gender Equality

    Georgia US- As the world convenes for the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), the importance of digital inclusion in achieving gender equality is emphasized.

    The theme of CSW69, “Innovation and Technological Change, and Education in the Digital Age for Achieving Gender Equality and the Empowerment of All Women and Girls,” highlights the transformative potential of technology in narrowing the gender gap.

    Ambassador Catherine Utsalo stated that digital inclusion is not merely a matter of access; it encompasses broader aspects that are crucial for empowering women and girls, it’s about creating opportunities for women and girls to participate, contribute, and thrive in the digital economy.

    She added that we must work together to address the systemic barriers that prevent women from fully benefiting from technological advancements.”

    During the virtual meeting in Atlanta, some dignitaries, notably, Dr. Christine Valentine, Vice-Chancellor of Cornerstone Christian University/Cornerstone University of Florida and Dr. Rasheed Vincent Osa-Ogbeide, President, Cornerstone Christian University/Cornerstone University of Florida, who were present to receive their Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards by President Joe Biden, seized the opportunity to thank President Joe Biden for the honor.

    They reiterated the importance of volunteering and philanthropy in building a strong and self sustaining world.

    Dr Christine Valentine, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, while answering questions from Mrs. Wasilah Ladan, a Senior reporter from the Federal Radio Nigeria corporation Network Service.

    She emphasized the need to increase digital literacy by provide trainings and educational programs that will equip women and girls with the skills to navigate and leverage the digital technologies, to advance self-reliance in the ever evolving world economy.

    Dr. Rasheed Vincent Osa-Ogbeide, the President of Cornerstone Christian University/Cornerstone University of Florida, expressed a strong desire to extend the University’s scholarship empowerment programs to the inter cities of Under developed and developing countries like Nigeria, to facilitate the realization of these United Nations goals.

    He further stated that there needs to be an intentional commitment by every well meaning organization to encourage more women to get involved in the decision making process of their Nations.

    It is only then, he pointed out, that a true gap in gender inequality can be significantly reduced.

    Continuing his remarks, Dr. Rasheed Vincent Osa-Ogbeide reiterated the dire need for the world body to address online gender-based violence.

    He employs the United Nations to galvanize member nations to develop mechanisms and formulate policies that will prevent or, at least, reduce cyber bullying, harassment, and abuse of girls and women in every sphere of human existence.
