The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa, has praised Governor Abba Yusuf’s kindness and support in ensuring the success of the 2024 Hajj operations.
According to Danbappa, the Governor provided the board with 8 million deposits to facilitate the pilgrimage. This gesture, along with others, contributed to the smooth execution of the operations.
The 2024 Hajj operations were deemed a great success, with 3,125 pilgrims attending and all returning safely, except for four reported deaths. Kano State’s excellence in Hajj operations earned international recognition.
The Kano State Government received awards for its exceptional handling of the Hajj operations. Governor Abba Yusuf received an award at Eagle Square for education, and Danbappa was recognized as the best coordinator by international Hajj reporters.
Chairman of the Pilgrims welfare governing board Yusuf lawan dentified dilapidated buses in Saudi Arabia as a challenge and urged their replacement. He also requested the Governor’s assistance in addressing shelter deposits and securing invitations to the World Pilgrims Conference in London.
The Governor assured that preparations for the 2025 Hajj operations will commence immediately. Danbappa pleaded for the Governor’s continued support to sustain the success of the Hajj operations.
Danbappa expressed gratitude to the Governor, stakeholders, and officers for their efforts in making the 2024 Hajj operations a success. He commended the pilgrims for their cooperation and determination, noting that Kano State’s success in Hajj operations is a testament to the state’s resilience and commitment.
