Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Competition Sub-Committees Present Reports after deliberations at the 5th sitting in Gombe.
In a communique signed by the chairman of the main organizing committee, MOC Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe, who doubles as convener of the meeting and made available to newsmen.
He expressed delight over the level of progress by each committee.
During the meeting, the three sub-committees, Transport, Accommodation, Media, and Technical, presented their reports.
However, the Transport sub-committee, led by Secretary Mr Tanko Adamu, presented its report, which was unanimously accepted.
The report highlighted the progress made in visiting proposed schools (Games Villages) and included a letter of approval from SUBEB Gombe, the Educational Secretary, and the Ministry of Education.
The secretary noted areas requiring urgent attention, including toilet facilities and environmental sanitation.
The Media sub-committee, under the leadership of Secretary Yakubu Maikudi, presented a radio jingle content, which was approved after deliberation.
Similarly the Technical committee, led by Secretary Simon Ayuba, reported on medals, meal tickets, committee tags, and numbering tags for athletes.
The opening ceremony for the 1st Gombe State Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Championship is set for September 29, 2024.
Where ASP Jauro Usman was appointed Camp Commandant, assisted by Mr. Ibrahim Isyaku and Ketos Jerry Turawa.
The communique pointed out that a formal letter will be sent to GOSEPA requesting intervention from the Fumigation and Malaria Control Agency to assist with mosquito nets.
The meeting was adjourned until next week, with more sub-committees expected to present their reports to the Main Organising Committee.
