According to Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House, the facility will provide a comprehensive range of free services, including diagnosis, consultations, medications, and surgical interventions for individuals living with sickle cell anaemia.

The governor’s dedication to tackling this health crisis underscores his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises aimed at improving healthcare access for all.

This initiative complements Governor Yusuf’s earlier landmark achievement of enacting the Premarital Health Screening Law, which prevents marriages between individuals with matching genotypes, thereby reducing the incidence of sickle cell births.
