The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ijele Sports Club, Chief Ferdinand Naza, has extended heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders of the club following the conclusion of their debut season in the Nigerian National League (NNL).
In a press statement issued in Enugu, Chief Naza praised the efforts and commitment of the club’s coaches, players, sponsors, partners, supporters’ club, and fans throughout the season.

“As the curtain is drawn on what has been a remarkable and eventful first season in the Nigerian National League, I write to you with a heart full of gratitude, humility, and renewed hope for the future of Ijele Sports Club,” Naza stated.
Although the season ended in relegation to the Nationwide League One (NLO), Chief Naza highlighted the numerous lessons and positive moments that emerged. “This season, though culminating in our relegation, was filled with powerful lessons, spirited performances, and moments that truly define the resilience and identity of this great club,” he said.

Chief Naza acknowledged that results didn’t always favour the team but emphasized their unwavering belief and growth amid internal and external challenges.
He pointed to logistical difficulties, inconsistent officiating, and a tight fixture schedule as part of the systemic issues affecting the league.
Yet, he lauded the team’s ability to compete with honour and pride despite the odds.
Among the highlights of the season, he noted, was Ijele FC’s impressive 2–0 victory over former champions Beyond Limit FC—an achievement that showcased the potential of the club’s youthful squad and the tactical acumen of its coaching crew.
To the coaching staff, Chief Naza offered special recognition for their dedication, innovation, and sacrifice:
“You worked with limited resources yet inspired our players daily with belief and discipline. You’ve laid a strong foundation for what this club can become.”
He also commended the players for their passion and professionalism, saying, “You wore our colours with pride, gave your all on the pitch, and fought until the final whistle. Your effort will not be forgotten.”
In praising the sponsors, partners, and supporters’ club, Chief Naza emphasized their role in sustaining the club’s vision:
“Your belief in Ijele Sports Club is the fuel that powers our ambition. You stood by us not just in moments of glory but also in adversity.”
To the fans, he added, “You are the heart of this club. Whether in Enugu or away games across Nigeria, your chants, drumming, and presence lifted our spirits. Ijele is more than just a team—it’s a movement.”
Looking ahead, Chief Naza assured that Ijele FC will return stronger. “We are going back to NLO 1 not with bowed heads but with renewed focus and an iron resolve to correct our shortcomings. We will restructure, reinforce, and rise again.”
“To everyone who stood by the club, you are part of our journey. Together, we remain Ijele—the pride of the East, the heartbeat of the people.”
