Kano state government KNSG has reaffirmed it’s unwavering commitment to strengthening social protection systems and improving nutrition for women and children across the state.
The state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf made this known during a one-day sensitization program on Social Protection and Nutrition, organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and People with Special Needs.

Represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, the governor highlighted the crucial role of proper nutrition particularly for children aged one to two years in supporting optimal brain development and lifelong well-being.
He noted that several initiatives are currently underway to promote and safeguard women’s health in the state.
In her remarks, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and People with Special Needs, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani, reiterated the Governor’s dedication to women’s empowerment and welfare.

She assured participants that the Ministry would continue to complement the Governor’s efforts by implementing impactful programs that enhance the lives of women and families across Kano State.
The Commissioner also encouraged women to maintain good personal and child hygiene, embrace balanced nutrition practices, and serve as agents of change within their communities.
She further directed Women Development Officers (WDOs) to step down the knowledge and skills gained from the sensitization workshop to women at the grassroots level across all local government areas.
