Kano State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has called on parents to take an active role in shielding their children from the dangers of illicit drugs and social vices.

Speaking at the annual Maulud celebration in Ungogo Local Government Area, Comrade Gwarzo emphasized the importance of parental supervision in cultivating moral and socially responsible behavior among the youth.

He expressed concern over the escalating instances of drug abuse and social misconduct, warning that these challenges pose a severe threat to the community’s and the state’s future.

Comrade Gwarzo appealed to Islamic scholars and parents to lead the fight against drug abuse and social vices by closely monitoring their children’s activities and teaching them discipline and responsibility.

The Deputy Governor commended the organizer of the Maulud event, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Dangaske, for providing a platform to educate the community on pressing social issues.

He encouraged community leaders to initiate more programs to instill ethical and moral values in the youth.

The event was attended by prominent Islamic scholars, the Grand Khadi of Kano State, and members of the business community.
