The Kano State Government has distributed essential laws worth millions of naira to its state counsel, aiming to enhance their effectiveness in prosecuting criminal and civil cases.
The distribution took place during the closing ceremony of a 3-day induction training for 70 new state counsel.

The laws distributed include the Criminal Code, Penal Code, Evidence Act, and other relevant statutes governing criminal and civil proceedings in Nigeria.
According to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Haruna Isah Dederi, this initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to promoting justice and upholding the rule of law.
The Solicitor General, Barr. Mustapha Nurradden Muhammad, commended Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for his efforts in reforming the justice sector.

He emphasized that the provision of these essential laws will enable state counsel to handle cases more effectively and ensure justice is served.
Muhammad charged the new counsel to reciprocate the gesture by demonstrating their commitment to their duties, warning that the ministry will not tolerate laxity and failure.
