A dinner was recently hosted by Kano State’s Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), led by the Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG), in honor of Hajiya Amina Abdullahi Sani, Commissioner for Women, Children, and Disabled.

The event aimed to strengthen ties between the ministry, NGOs, and partners, while intensifying collaboration for the implementation of the ministry’s 2025 budget and Annual Operational Plan.
In his welcome address, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, Chairman of AMG Foundation and Technical Advisor to the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, congratulated Commissioner Hajiya Amina on her reassignment.

He also commended Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for allocating over N4 billion (0.8% of the state budget) to the ministry in 2025.
The commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving funds for her ministry and to Dr. Magashi for hosting the dinner.

She assured that the governor will establish the Commission for People With Disabilities to improve their wellbeing.
The ministry’s 2025 budget includes initiatives such as the establishment of women and social centers, sexual assault referral centers, economic empowerment programs, and the reactivation of the Children’s Parliament.

The dinner provided an opportunity for NGOs and partners to advocate for the establishment of the Commission for People With Disabilities and to intensify collaboration with the ministry for the implementation of its 2025 budget and Annual Operational Plan.
