Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening its collaboration with the Red Cross Society of Nigeria, Kano State Branch.
Speaking at the launch of the society’s National Annual Calendar in Kano, Governor Yusuf, represented by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross in providing essential services to communities across the state.

“Kano State Government will continue to collaborate closely with the Red Cross Society of Nigeria to enhance its operations, especially in the areas of humanitarian services across the state,” Comrade Waiya stated.
The Commissioner also addressed concerns regarding the recently established High-Powered Committee on NGO Profiling, clarifying that the initiative aims to identify and eliminate fraudulent organizations operating under the guise of NGOs.
“The committee is not designed to witch-hunt anyone but to ensure that all organizations operating in Kano are credible and genuinely committed to the state’s development,” Comrade Waiya assured.

Comrade Waiya reassured the public that only organizations engaged in illegal activities have cause for concern.
He further reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering transparency, accountability, and community welfare while positioning Kano as a model for development in Northern Nigeria.
