According to Aliyu Yusuf, Director of Public Enlightenment, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Kano State, the Head of Service received three volumes of the reviewed documents from the committee tasked with the assignment, chaired by retired Permanent Secretary Alhaji Farouk Lawan Yola.

Alhaji Musa highlighted the necessity of the updates, emphasizing that the changes were prompted by the dwindling fortunes of the Civil Service, necessitating reforms to align with current realities and strengthen the system for effective service delivery.

Praising the committee’s effort, Alhaji Musa described the members as men of high caliber whose contributions would significantly impact the Civil Service’s growth and functionality.

In his remarks, Alhaji Farouk Lawan Yola revealed that the review process involved wide-ranging consultations with both retired and serving Civil Servants, as well as input from the Federal Civil Service.

This collaborative approach ensured the production of comprehensive and practical documents.

Key areas of the review included:

Enhancement of entry points into the service based on qualifications.

Elongation of terminal grades following the abolition of GL/1.

Introduction of new cadres, particularly with NCE qualifications.

Revision of nomenclatures and salary scales.

Inclusion of disciplinary measures for Permanent Secretaries in line with federal practices.

Alhaji Yola expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the committee and pledged ongoing support for the Civil Service whenever needed.

In a related development, Alhaji Musa also presented appointment letters to newly appointed Permanent Secretaries.

He urged them to remain dedicated, uphold integrity, and carry out their duties with the fear of God.

This landmark development is expected to enhance professionalism and efficiency within the Kano State Civil Service.
