Kano State House of Assembly says it would do everything within it’s powers to uplift the standard of state-owned tertiary institutions.
Chairman House Committee on Higher Education Abdulhamid Abdul disclosed this during an overnight function to Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies AKCILS.
He said the purpose of the visit was to ascertain the level of progress made so far.

The Provost of the College, Professor Balarabe Abubakar Jakada explained that the institution has received intervention from individuals and organizations.
The committee was also at Kano State Polytechnic where they commended the institute for the giant stride in the areas of infrastructure development.
The Acting Rector Dr Muhammad Umar Kibiya stressed that the polytechnic was the first higher institution established by the state government.
He said the school has six campuses and would do everything possible to improve the infrastructure for conducive learning and working environment.
