The Kano State Government, through its Ministry of Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, is taking steps to resolve a lingering disagreement between the Riruwai Community and Century Mining Company (CMC) regarding the Community Development Agreement (CDA).

A fact-finding meeting was convened by the Commissioner, Alhaji Hamza Safiyanu, with a delegation from Riruwai Community to identify the causes of the disagreement and recommend a solution.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect among the parties involved.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals, Alhaji Aminu Abba Ibrahim, stressed that mining companies must comply with the stipulated CDA, pay royalties effectively, and cooperate with the host state government.
