    KNSG Vows to Implement VAPP Law, Protect Vulnerable

    Kano State’s Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and Disabled has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law in Kano State.

    The Commissioner Hajiya Amina Abdullahi made the indica while receiving a delegation from the Development Research and Projects Center (dRPC), a non-governmental, non-profit organization, in her office.

    Hajiya Amina pledged that she will ensure the VAPP Law is implemented in Kano State, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to achieve this goal.

    She emphasized the importance of public awareness campaigns for projects, ensuring that stakeholders are informed and engaged to achieve desired outcomes.

    The Commissioner commended dRPC’s efforts in involving Islamic scholars, recognizing the significance of cultural sensitivity and acceptability in the state.

    She reiterated her ministry’s willingness to partner with NGOs, acknowledging that collective efforts are necessary to address the needs of vulnerable populations.

    Hajiya Amina urged dRPC to continue supporting women, children, and disabled individuals, who require ongoing assistance and advocacy.

    She expressed her commitment to working together to create a safer, more equitable environment for all citizens.

    The Program Officer-Gender, Hajiya Aisha Bello, and Umar Ahmad Umar, Senior Program Associate, during the visit highlighted the Development Research and Projects Centre’s (dRPC) commitment to various initiatives which include Public Health, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Gender as a Cross-Cutting Theme.

    Hajiya Aisha Bello and Umar Ahmad Umar expressed their readiness to collaborate with the ministry, emphasizing their shared goals and commitment to creating positive Change.

    They acknowledged the importance of working together to address the complex challenges faced by women, children, and vulnerable populations.

    The dRPC’s efforts align with global initiatives aimed at promoting gender equality, economic empowerment, and social justice. Said dRPC delegates.

    According to them through this partnership, the dRPC and the Ministry of Women Affairs aim to exploit their collective experience and resources to drive meaningful change and improve the lives of marginalized communities.
