The Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) has applauded the residents of Kano for their increasing compliance with the building approval process.

In an interview with Ammasco Radio, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, Managing Director of KNUPDA, expressed his appreciation for the cooperation shown by the residents.

He attributed this positive development to the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration, which he described as a “government of the people.”

Adamu emphasized that obtaining building approvals is crucial for organized urban development.

He noted that many residents are unaware that approvals are required for various structures, including pole-wares, culverts, drainages, roads, filling stations, and boreholes.

To address this knowledge gap, KNUPDA is urging residents to ensure they obtain the necessary approvals before embarking on construction projects.

The agency is also encouraging residents to report any complaints or concerns directly to them, in any language they feel comfortable with.

Adamu assured residents that KNUPDA’s doors are always open to receive grievances and suggestions.

He emphasized that the agency’s staff are available to address complaints and take necessary action.

By complying with KNUPDA’s regulations, residents can avoid enforcement actions and ensure the safety and well-being of their communities.
