The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it has received a staggering 573,519 applications for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.

This massive response comes just one week after the NCS opened its portal for applications.

The recruitment exercise, approved by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Olawale Edun, aims to fill 3,927 officer positions within the NCS.

 

According to NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, the applications have been broken down into various categories and ranks for both general duty and support staff positions.

Breakdown of Applications

Superintendent Cadre: 249,218 applicants for general duty, and 27,722 applicants with HNDs and university degrees for support staff roles.

Inspector Cadre: 115,634 applicants for general duty, and 12,952 applicants for support staff roles, requiring National Certificate of Education (NCE) or National Diploma qualifications.

Customs Assistant Roles: 153,593 applicants for general duty, and 14,400 applicants for support staff roles, requiring secondary school certificates.

The NCS is expected to review and shortlist applicants for the next stage of the recruitment process.
