Kano Pillars have been slammed with multiple sanctions by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following crowd violence during their Match Day 8 fixture.
The league announced the disciplinary measures in a statement made available to newsmen.
The club will lose three points and three goals from their total for the season. They have also been fined a total of ₦9.5 million for various breaches of league rules.

According to the NPFL, a ₦1 million fine was issued for failing to provide adequate security. Another ₦1 million was imposed for allowing dangerous objects to be thrown at match officials and players.
The league also fined the club ₦1 million for not controlling their supporters and ₦1 million for conduct deemed to have brought the game into disrepute.
For assaults on Shooting Stars players and match officials, the club was fined ₦2 million. An additional ₦2 million was ordered as compensation for victims injured during the incident.

Kano Pillars are to pay ₦1.5 million to match officials, with ₦250,000 allocated to each. The NPFL also announced the indefinite closure of Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The team is now required to play its home matches in Katsina for at least ten games. The club has 48 hours to accept the sanctions or appear before the NPFL disciplinary panel, according to the league’s statement.
