Bayero University Kano (BUK) has received full accreditation for 53 academic programs across various faculties from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The accredited programs span undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
A statement signed by BUK Registrar Haruna Aliyu, made available to newsmen, explained that, the accreditation was conducted in October and November 2024.
He noted that the accreditation covers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Administration, Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Arts, Computing, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Social Sciences.
He said the achievement reaffirms the University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.
“The outcome of this rigorous accreditation exercise reflects the University’s sustained investment in faculty development, infrastructure, curriculum improvement, and research advancement. It is a validation of our strategy to position Bayero University, Kano as a premier institution of higher learning in Nigeria and beyond”
The register maintained that the the full accreditation status granted to the 53 programs is valid for five years.
“It guarantees that students admitted into these programs are enrolled in NUC-approved and quality-assured curricula, while their certificates are recognized for employment, further studies, and national service”
The university management commended the efforts of faculty members, administrative staff, and students who contributed to this achievement, reaffirming their commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
