The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, has expressed the commission’s readiness to confirm the approval of the review of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) operational licence.
Professor Ribadu stated this while receiving the management of the university led by its Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.
The Executive Secretary further explained that the commission is ready to forward the approved operational licence to the university next week.
He assured the management of the commission’s readiness to assist in addressing any challenges the university might encounter.
He then applauded the management’s commitment and determination towards the upliftment of teaching and learning, praying for KHAIRUN’s continued success in its endeavours.
Earlier, the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of KHAIRUN, Professor Kabiru Isyaku, commended the leadership of the commission for their foresight and contributions to the overall development of both public and private universities across the country.
While appreciating the commission for its role, especially in fostering quality higher education in the country, he pledged that KHAIRUN will continue to do so to actactualizes set objective.
Also speaking, the KHAIRUN’s vice chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, highlighted the history of its academic programmes and the legacy of its founder, the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, whose remarkable contributions to Qur’an recitation and memorisation, philanthropy, and formal education have left a lasting impact on society.
Professor Abdulrashid Garba however, expressed gratitude to the commission’s Executive Secretary and the management staff for their unwavering support to KHAIRUN and other Nigerian Tertiary institutions.
