Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board KNSPHCMB has urged Pregnant women and Nursing mothers to adhere to the new guidelines on the intake of Multiple Micronutrient supplements MMS.
The Director of family health KNSPHCMB Dr Ahmad Tijjani Habib made the call during a One-Day sensitization workshop organized for Nutrition stakeholders across the 44 Local government areas in collaboration with Alive & Thrive.

According to him, the NNHS 2018 survey pointed out that the malnutrition indicators of Kano State showed that severe acute malnutrition was 5.4%.
He described the orientation as a great step that will go a long way in curbing maternal mortality and morbidity in the state.
The state team lead Alive & Thrive Dr Ashiru Hamza, who is the state team lead for Alive said MMS will improve the health of Pregnant women and Nursing mothers.
A participant who spoke to newsmen described the orientation as apt and promised to cascade the knowledge to others.

The orientation organized by KNSPHCMB supported by Alive and Thrive targeted Nutrition focal persons and their assistants from the 44 LGAs in Kano State.
