The African Media Network for the Promotion of Health and Environment (REMAPSEN) recently participated in the 3rd edition of the Africa Health Tech Summit (AHTS) 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.

According to REMAPSEN’s First Vice President, Prince-Taty Yassa Bofekwa, it was an honor to be part of this major meeting that brought together top figures from technology, health, governments, associations, and partners to advance digital health

“It is an honor for REMAPSEN to be present at this major meeting, which brought together leading figures from the world of technology, health, governments, associations and partners from the continent and elsewhere with the sole idea of working together to advance digital health. Many thanks to our partner Speak Up Africa.

He stressed that apart from Speak Up Africa, several other partners includes German cooperation, Giz UNICEF, AFRICA CDC, Republic Of Rwanda, Smart Africa and Dala Africa.

The vice president pointed out that, highlights of the summit focuses on the importance of sharing information, experiences, and above all on connectivity as

“we cannot talk about digital health without the internet, which is unfortunately still a real challenge for several African countries.”

Prince pointed out , another major point that was at the center of this three-day meeting is on youth innovation to support the African continent to improve health across communities.

Other crucial points for realizing the potential of innovations are artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, blockchain and many more.

The summit featured prominent speakers, such as Hon. Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, Minister of Health, Rwanda, and Lacina Koné, Director General/CEO of Smart Africa.

The event aimed to shape the future of digital health in Africa, fostering strategic partnerships and showcasing healthcare innovations.
