    Tinubu Sacks Six Ministers: Reassigns 10, Appoints Seven New

    President Bola Tinubu has dismissed six ministers from his cabinet in a significant administrative restructuring aimed at enhancing government efficiency.

    The officials removed from their posts include Women Affairs Minister Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Tourism Minister Lola Ade-John, Education Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, and Youth Development Minister Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim.

    Additionally, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, has been formally sacked.

    Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announced the shake-up, which also includes the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios and the nomination of seven new ministers, pending Senate approval.

    As part of the reshuffle, Tinubu introduced new ministers into the cabinet to drive key government priorities. These changes are intended to bolster the administration’s efforts to tackle the country’s pressing challenges.

    The new appointees include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,

    Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

    Abdullahi Ata is the former Kano State Speaker during Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s administration.

    President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavors.

    He urged the new and reassigned ministers to view their roles as a call to national service, stressing the need for full dedication to the administration’s vision of setting Nigeria on a path of sustained growth.
