The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has made significant progress in its fight against crime, following the arrest of a suspected armed robber and recovery of a stolen vehicle in Uyo.
The arrest occurred on Monday, June 27, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m. Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives apprehended one Tony John Isaac, a 27-year-old male, in possession of a blue Toyota Camry bearing registration number JJJ 412 GX.

He was intercepted along Obio Imoh Street by Udoumana Traffic Light in Uyo.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, the suspect failed to produce ownership documents for the vehicle.
During interrogation, he claimed to have purchased the car from an unidentified individual in Aba, Abia State, but was unable to provide the seller’s name or address.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was originally stolen at gunpoint from a 48-year-old man along Osusu Road in Aba on February 28, 2025, at about 8:40 p.m.

The armed robbers also made away with other personal belongings of the victim during the incident.
With enhanced inter-state coordination, the rightful owner was traced and invited to the Command.
He positively identified the car and presented original documents as proof of ownership.
Grateful for the police intervention, the victim commended the officers for their professionalism and swift recovery of the vehicle.
