Noted that the Dangote Refinery represents a strategic step toward strengthening Nigeria’s economic sovereignty and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products.
The organisation highlighted several key benefits of the refinery’s operations, including job creation for young people and women, as well as stabilisation of fuel supply and pricing.
Others are stimulation of ancillary industries such as petrochemicals and logistics, and enhanced contributions to national GDP and fiscal revenues.
According to the statement, these gains could significantly boost resources available for social protection and inclusive development programs across the country.
While acknowledging recent public discourse involving the refinery, labour unions, and regulatory agencies, Ummatee-C4PASS emphasised the need for constructive engagement rather than confrontation.
“We encourage the Nigerian public to view this development not through the lens of competition or conflict, but as an opportunity for collective progress, innovation, and national pride,” the group added.
The organisation further stressed that sustainable industrialisation must be anchored on good governance, fair labour practices, and transparency, ensuring that the benefits of such monumental projects reach ordinary citizens, the true stakeholders in the nation’s prosperity.
Ummatee-C4PASS reaffirmed its commitment to promoting accountability, peace, and inclusive growth for all Nigerians.
