Speaking at the event, the National CCT Coordinator of the AGILE project, Dr. Kubrah Muhammad, stressed the importance of utilizing the funds to support the educational needs of girls.

He said Bebeji LGA alone accounts for 4,984 of the current CCT beneficiaries.
According to him, the introduction of the CCT initiative has led to a notable 31% increase in school enrollment for girls in the state, with a 35% rise at the junior secondary level and a 27% increase at the senior secondary level.
Malam Surajo noted that the cash transfers are tied to specific conditions, including maintaining a minimum of 70% school attendance, to ensure sustained eligibility.
In his remarks, the District Head of Bebeji and ‘Yan Dakan Kano, Alhaji Sarki Yusuf Bayero, called on parents especially fathers to take responsibility for their daughters’ education.
He cautioned that the CCT funds should be used solely for educational purposes and not become a source of family conflict.
He emphasized that either parent may manage the funds, provided they are directed toward the child’s academic development.
“The most important thing is for parents to inculcate good moral values in their children to make them useful to society,”
