The CP noted that the convictions reflect the Command’s strategic focus on professional investigation, diligent prosecution, and adherence to constitutional due process.
The positive impact of these convictions has been particularly felt in Uyo, Ikot Ekpene, Oron, and Eket, where residents have reported noticeable drops in incidents of burglary, theft, and other violent crimes.
Since taking office in late 2024, CP Azare has implemented several reform initiatives, including:
Enhanced community policing strategies
Rapid response and intervention units
Intensive retraining of officers
Direct field supervision of operations
He commended officers and men of the Command for their professionalism and dedication, assuring that exceptional performances would be formally recognized. He also acknowledged the vital support of the judiciary and the Ministry of Justice in achieving swift and fair convictions.
“These 23 convictions are a testament to our commitment to justice and safety,” CP Azare stated. “We will continue to pursue intelligence-driven policing, expand patrol operations, and improve public awareness to build deeper community trust.”
