In a landmark move to improve healthcare access for vulnerable populations in Kano State, the Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation has pledged to sponsor health insurance coverage for 200 vulnerable individuals under the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA).
The announcement was made during an advocacy visit to the AMG Foundation office by officials from KSCHMA and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI).

The visit aimed to encourage philanthropic organizations to contribute to expanding health insurance coverage for the underserved in the state.

During the meeting, the KSCHMA team lead, Dr Maimashi Musbahu presented the “Investment Case for Vulnerable Population Program,” highlighting the critical role of partnerships in expanding coverage to underserved communities.
“The involvement of partners like AMG Foundation is vital to the success of our mission to reach the most vulnerable in society,” Dr. Musbahu explained.
Dr. Kabiru Guluma, team lead at CHAI, praised AMG Foundation for its continuous support of health system strengthening in Kano State.
“Their dedication is a shining example of how collaboration can drive positive change in healthcare delivery,” Dr. Guluma said.
In recognition of his tireless efforts to improve healthcare for vulnerable populations, Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba was appointed an official Ambassador of KSCHMA.
The honor was conferred by Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, through the agency’s Director of Administration and General Services.
This latest initiative marks another milestone in AMG Foundation’s mission to support sustainable healthcare delivery for the most vulnerable communities in Kano State.
