Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital AKTH has performed its first laser surgery after the Tertiary education trust fund (Tetfund) intervention. The surgery which took place shortly after a three-day workshop on Urology and kidney transplant was attended by doctors from 7 northern universities was the first of its kind. The machines procured by the tertiary education trust fund Tetfund were part of its intervention to tertiary institutions across the nation. The Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation has fulfilled its promise to empower 50 women in Kano State through a skills acquisition training program. The initiative, in collaboration with Women Partners for Progress (WPP), aims to equip women with the necessary tools to start their own businesses.
