The federal government says it would restrategize to ensure that consumers of electricity are served in line with the country’s investment regulations. The commissioner of consumer affairs Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Aisha Mahmud made the indication during a three-day customer complaint resolution meeting organized for electricity consumers in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa. She explained that with a population of over 13 million 60% of customers are unmetered while others are made to purchase transmitters, tools and utilities without consideration for investment regulations.
