A non governmental organization the Campaign for Transformative Governance (CFTG) has organized a multi- stakeholders dialogue town hall meeting in Kano.

The state chairman CFTG Kano Comrade Usman Abdulhamid explained that, the meeting is a means to bring together all the stakeholders, mobilize and sensitize them on how to engage government and how Kano people can have a say in governance.

“To discuss in the areas of education , health, water resources and other important issues that affect the people in Kano”

He stressed that, CFTG is a coalition of civil society organizations CSOs, labour unions, community based organizations CSOs, women groups, youth and students.

“we are working under the platform of solidarity center “

Comrade Usman pointed out that, CFTG has similar chapters in 10 states including the federal capital territory Abuja, saying that more will be inaugurated gradually in other states. Adding that Kano is among the first phase of six states.

“We will commend the government where they did well and draw their attention where the need arises”,

The vice chairman of the campaign for transformative good governance, Comrade Maryam Musa, highlighted that they were gathered to let the government know about societal problems and look for solutions.

“We aim to let the government our plights and tstressed that youths are meant to engage with the state government in terms of education, employment, health climate change, environmental development, youth participation in politics, and gender equality, among others.

Secretary General of Women Forum Fatima Ibrahim emphasized the need for stakeholders to come together to rub minds to the state forward.

“This will help in curtailing challenges in terms of education and health care system and curb water supply shortage.

The Campaign for Transformative Governance (CFTG) is a Campaign anchored by Trade Union and Pro Labour Civil Society organisations; TUC, AUPCTRE, FIWON and Pro Labour Civil Society Organizations.
