The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old suspect, Usman Sagiru, in connection with the killing of a vigilante member and an attack on another during the entourage of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II after Eid prayers.
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 12:40 pm when the Emir’s entourage was dispersing from the Eid praying ground.

According to police sources, Sagiru and others, who are currently at large, allegedly stabbed Surajo Rabiu, a vigilante member from Sabon Titi Jaba Quarters, who later succumbed to his injuries.
Another vigilante, Aminu Suleman, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital.
Emir of Kano Cancels Eid-el-Fitr Durbar Over Security Concerns
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations have commenced.
An invitation has been extended to Shamakin Kano, Alhaji Wada Isyaku, for interrogation.
The police have also reiterated the ban on Durbar activities and warned against any acts that could disrupt public order.
