Dakar, Senegal- The 7th Galien Africa Forum’s Youth Forum celebrated innovative solutions to Africa’s climate and environmental challenges by presenting the African Young Innovators Award to three visionary recipients.
First Prize ($5,000): Samuel Muyita (Uganda) – Developed sustainable fresh fruit preservation technology.
Second Prize ($3,000): Noël Obognon (Benin) – Created organic fertilizers using black soldier fly larvae.
Third Prize ($2,000): Samba Thioube (Senegal) – Designed smart irrigation systems for optimized water management.
The Youth Forum convened young innovators, entrepreneurs and investors around the theme “Health and Community Actions in Response to Climate and Environmental Crises in Africa.” Madagascar and Niger finalists received participation certificates.
Major highlights of the the 7th Galien Africa Forum includes Collaboration Opportunities, Young innovators and investors exchanged ideas.
Others are GAINDE SAT Space Project where l Young engineers presented satellite observation for climate change mitigation.
As well as a roundtable Discussion: “Women and Youth Leading the Way” emphasized inclusive, sustainable actions.
The Galien Africa Forum empowers African youth to address climate challenges through innovation and entrepreneurship.
