In a gesture of appreciation and support, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has donated the sum of N2,000,000 to Hajiya Mariya Galadanchi, a renowned presenter of the Hausa request program Zabi Sonka on Radio Kano.
Presenting the donation on behalf of the Governor, the Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, highlighted that the support was aimed at assisting Hajiya Mariya in managing her welfare, especially at her advanced age.

He noted that the donation reflects the Governor’s acknowledgment of her immense contributions to the people of Kano State.
“The Governor recognizes the dedication and sacrifices of individuals like Hajiya Mariya Galadanchi, who spent an incredible 60 years serving as an artist at Radio Kano,” said Dantiye.
“This support also reflects his commitment to helping those who have devoted their lives to serving society, especially during these challenging economic times.”

In her response, Hajiya Mariya Galadanchi expressed profound gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the generous donation.
She described it as a testament to the Governor’s compassion and consistent efforts to assist deserving individuals in the community.
She explained that she is 93 years old and a retired health worker but continues to present the Hausa request program due to her deep passion for broadcasting and her desire to serve the public .
“Despite my age, I continue to present the request program Zaben Abba Gida GIda on Radio Kano because of my passion for broadcasting and serving the people,” Hajiya Mariya stated.
“This donation will further boost my morale and enable me to continue contributing to the progress of Kano State.”
She offered prayers for Governor Yusuf, asking Almighty Allah to reward his kindness and grant him success throughout his tenure.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad, during the presentation.
