The Jigawa State Government JGSG has approved the employment of 9,970 youth security at Schools, Health Institutions, and Courts across the state.
State Commissioner of Information Youth, Sports, and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state executive Council meeting.

He said the approval is in line with the state government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and properties.
According to him ” The Council approved the report of the Committee on Safety of Schools, Health Institutions, and Courts across the state”
He explained that the report recommends the adoption of preventive security strategies to ensure maximum protection for all primary and secondary schools (both day and boarding), High Courts, Magistrate and Shari’a Courts, Primary Health Centers (PHCs), and General Hospitals.

He said, the council will engage private Indigenous security companies, employing 9,972 Jigawa State youth from the respective communities to serve as security personnel, fostering local employment and community-driven security solutions
Meanwhile, the state executive Council has approved the waiver of costs on Seeds, Fertilizers, Agro-Chemicals, and Labour, totaling One Hundred and Twelve Million, Fifteen Thousand, Nine Hundred Naira (N112,015,900.00) for 335 flood victims currently enrolled in the Jigawa State Rice Millionaire Project.
The commissioner of Information said the move is in recognition of the challenges faced by residents affected by the 2024 floods.
