The Jigawa State Government has dismissed recent allegations by a social media user, Mr. George Udom, accusing Governor Umar Namadi of misplaced priorities.

In a statement signed by Malam Garba Al-Hadeja, the Governor’s New Media Aide, the government described Udom’s claims as “misleading and baseless,” challenging him to provide verifiable proof of his assertions.

Mr. Udom, in a Facebook post, alleged that the administration allocated billions of naira for projects such as toilet renovations, graveyard and mosque renovations, and the construction of residences for government officials while neglecting critical sectors like education and healthcare.

However, the state government refuted these claims, stating that all budgetary allocations and expenditures are public records and that nowhere do such figures appear in official documents.

“Spreading misinformation without facts only serves to mislead the public and discredit the hard work being done to develop Jigawa State,” the statement read.

The government reiterated its commitment to improving the lives of Jigawa’s citizens, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.

While acknowledging existing challenges, it urged critics to engage constructively and avoid distorting facts for sensationalism.

“The people of Jigawa deserve honesty, not sensationalism,” the statement noted.
