Kano-ACReSAL has made significant strides in addressing water scarcity in Kano State by constructing five additional solar-powered boreholes.

These new boreholes are located in Kwankwasiyya Village, Mariri Community, and Yelwa Community, all within Kano’s historic city.

The State Project Coordinator, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, recently led an inspection team to these sites, comprising key personnel from the State Project Management Unit (SPMU).

The team’s objective was to assess the projects’ progress and provide technical guidance where necessary.

The inspection team included experts like Mr. Sulaiman Abubakar Sulaiman, Water Resources Specialist; Mr. Buhari Bello, Project Engineer; and Mr. Aminu Yushau Gidado, M&E Specialist.

This collaboration ensures that the projects meet the required standards and effectively alleviate water scarcity in the communities.

Kano-ACReSAL’s efforts align with the broader objectives of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project, which aims to promote sustainable landscape management practices in northern Nigeria.
