The Kano state house of assembly has passed the local governments supplementary amendment bill 2024.

This was sequel to the adoption of a report by the joint committee on appropriation local governments and cheiftency affairs during plenary presided over by the speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

Speaking shortly after sitting the chairman house committee on appropriation Aminu Sa’adu Ungoggo noted that the supplementary bill will be used to fund new minimum wage and projects across the 44 LGAs among others.

He noted that, the committee carefully scrutinized the 2024 local governments budget and made some changes to align with the needs and yearnings of the citizens.

Similarly the House has passed the Kano State Public Health Security Amendment Bill 2024.

Raising the motion, the majority leader of the house, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala, explained that the Kano state public health security amendment bill was pAssed in February 2024 without the 3rd reading as required by the law, which necessitated the recall for the third reading.

He noted that the passage of the bill will pave the way for regulation and implementation of the Kano state public health security that serves as a robust framework for public health surveillance, emergency management, and the protection of health care workers during crises.

After the third reading by the deputy clerk Alhaji Nasiru Magashi, the house unanimously passed the Kano State Public Health Security Amendment Bill 2024.

In another development, the house adopted a motion moved by a member representing Garko Murtala Muhammad Kadage, urging the state government to construct a road from Kwanar Lamirr-Lamire Town in Garko to boost agricultural and economic activities in the area.

Seconding the motion Member representing Rano Ibrahim Muhammad explained that, the construction of the road would alleviate the suffering of people in the area.

After careful deliberations, the house unanimously adopted the motion and adjourned its sitting to the next day.
