The Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) has called on the state government to upgrade four primary healthcare centres located in strategic areas of Kumbotso Local Government Area.
This was sequel to a motion sponsored by member representing Kumbotso constituency Alhaji Mudassir Zawaciki.
The plenary session was presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

Zawaciki who doubles as the chief whip noted that, the healthcare facilities at Mariri, Na’ibawa, Sheka Makaranta, and Chiranci are overstretched due to high patient turnout, as they serve residents from both Kumbotso and neighboring LGAs.
He stressed the need to improve their capacity in line with population growth and demand for quality healthcare.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Usman Bello Aliyu, representing Nasarawa constituency, and unanimously adopted by the House.
In a related development, the Assembly urged the state government to expedite the provision of potable drinking water across Dawakin Kudu Local Government.
Mover of the motion Member representing Dawakin Kudu, Shuaibu Rabi’u argued that all 15 wards in the area rely heavily on the Tamburawa Dam.

He revealed that while equipment has been supplied to the Wudil Water Treatment Plant, implementation of the water project has yet to commence.
Supporting the motion, Hon. Bello Aliyu (Nasarawa) and Hon. Labaran Abdul Masari (Warawa) emphasized that clean water is essential for preventing waterborne diseases like cholera. The House adopted the motion after deliberation.
The lawmakers also passed a resolution urging the government to rehabilitate the Gamra Bature–Dan Madaki–Tailafiya–Tunkurau–Gwanda–Dukawa–Mariri–Babura road.
The motion, sponsored by Murtala Musa Kore from Dambatta was seconded by Tini Lawan Ajingi (Ajingi) and Muhammad Ahmad Tomas (Makoda), highlighted the economic importance of the road, especially to local farmers and traders.
Kore lamented the dilapidated state of the road, which he said poses a major challenge to transportation and economic activities in the area.
The House adjourned its sitting to Monday, 14th July 2025 in a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hon. Lawan Hussaini Dala.
