The Kano State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has organized a two-day critical stakeholder engagement for the 2023/2024 fiscal survey.

The event brought together key personnel, including Directors of Personnel Management, Heads of Planning, Research, and Statistics from 44 local governments, and representatives from the Office of the Accountant General and State and Local Government Auditors.

Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, emphasized the importance of accurate data capturing for proper planning and policy execution.

He thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the exercise, which aims to enhance workers’ capacity in their official duties.

The representative of the Office of the State Accountant General, Alhaji Rabi’u Abdulkadir, stressed the significance of accurate financial transaction reporting for transparency and accountability.

State and Local Government Auditor Generals, Alhaji Suleiman Sani and Alhaji Abdullahi T. Abdullahi, commended local government councils for submitting their annual reports and urged participants to utilize the knowledge gained during the engagement.

A presentation on the CBN 2023/2024 half-year template highlighted the importance of quality data for decision-making, planning, and understanding CBN data collection nationwide.

The event aimed to ensure accurate data capturing for effective planning and policy implementation.
