Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) to revitalize the state’s education sector.

This assurance was given by the State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, during a courtesy visit from the PLANE team.

Dr. Makoda acknowledged the significant contributions of PLANE’s intervention programs in Kano, which have enhanced the present administration’s efforts to ensure quality education.

He emphasized that the state government, under the leadership of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, will continue to collaborate closely with PLANE to implement new education policies effectively.

The state team lead PLANE Kano Malam Umar Lawan, explained that the program, funded by the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), is a 7-year project divided into three windows to provide educational support to affected states.

He pointed out that, in Kano, PLANE has trained over 8,000 primary school teachers and distributed learning materials to 532 schools.

Malam Umar highlighted that the program has also supported 35 school-based management committees in sensitizing stakeholders on book care and maintenance.
