Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep satisfaction with the outstanding academic performance of students sponsored by his administration under the 100:1 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme.
During his visit to students at Sharjah University in India, Governor Yusuf commended their dedication and achievements, describing their success as a testament to the effectiveness of the state’s educational investments.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor affirmed that the scholarship resources had been well utilized, as evidenced by the students’ remarkable academic results.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering educational excellence, emphasizing that empowering young talents is central to Kano State’s vision for sustainable development.
He stated, “Education is a transformative tool, and nurturing young minds is vital for the prosperity of Kano State.”
The visit also provided an opportunity for Governor Yusuf to engage directly with the students, addressing their challenges and collecting feedback to refine future programs.
He highlighted that this visit was part of an on-the-spot assessment aimed at enhancing the scholarship scheme for subsequent beneficiaries.
Governor Yusuf revealed that over 400 students have already been sponsored to universities in Uganda and India as part of the initiative, with plans to expand the program before the end of his first tenure.
His administration remains committed to ensuring the success of both foreign and domestic scholarship recipients.
