Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has urged Special Reporters SR and Senior Special Reporters SSR to step up their efforts in sharing information about the state’s development projects.

He made the appeal during a meeting with the reporters, where Waiya emphasized the need to enhance their functions and address operational challenges.

Waiya assured the reporters that the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs will provide necessary training, equipment, and welfare support to facilitate their duties.

He also stressed the importance of clear communication and collaboration between Special Reporters, agency heads, and Information Officers.

To ensure effective information dissemination, Waiya announced plans to organize Special Reporters into clusters covering key ministries.

The Chairman of the Special Reporters and Senior Special Reporters Forum, Ameer Abdullahi Kima Daurawa, congratulated Waiya on his appointment and urged him to address the reporters’ challenges, including transportation and inclusion in government welfare programs.

The Director Information of the ministry, Alhaji Inuwa Idris Yakasai, suggested providing specialized journalism training for Special Reporters to enhance their reporting skills
